Ben (Mr.Ben)

Mr. Ben has had decades of experience working with children of all ages three years and up to 103. The oldest students in the program have been in their 70s. He has a great reputation and love for his students and parents. He works with both children and their parents to help create wonderful experiences, music, and memories.
Mr. Ben began his study with The Suzuki Method in 1968 at the age of 3. His mother began teaching her children using this method in 1965 early in the American establishment of the Suzuki Method. Mr. Ben and his mother Sarah studied under Ms. Louise Behrend, founder of the world's most renowned string school in New York City, "The School for Strings".
Louise Behand and John Kendall each lived with Dr. Suzuki in the 1950s and were given credit for bringing and introducing the method to the United States. Mr. Ben's mother later came to complete years of study with Dr. Suzuki in Matsumoto as well. She had one of the earlier established Suzuki Violin School Programs in the Northeast. As a kid, Mr. Ben would fly to NYC with his mother for a special lesson with Louise as a reward for a month of good practice.
Mr. Ben also had the opportunity to spend time with Dr. Suzuki in West Berlin in 1984 just before the "Berlin Wall", came down. His family consisted of six boys who were captivated by music and the New York Times named Mr. Ben`s family the most musical family in the United States
Music has been Mr. Ben's passion and love, which has driven him to share his years of experience and knowledge with new generations of music lovers.
